Fairfax Women’s Storytelling Festival

Better Said Than Done is hosting their 6th Annual Women’s Storytelling Festival soon. Details from the organizers follow:

When:

Friday, March 21, 7 pm
Saturday, March 22, 11 am – 9:30 pm
Sunday, March 23, 10 am – 5 pm

Where:

The Sherwood Center, 3740 Blenheim Blvd., Fairfax 

The festival features 19 storytellers performing over 3 days in-person at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, 3740 Blenheim Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030, March 21 – 23, with a special virtual only showcase premiering on March 20, 2025. The festival will be live-streaming and ticket holders will be able to watch the recordings for one month after.

In light of the economic situation, Better Said Than Done is offering a limited number of free tickets to the 2025 Women’s Storytelling Festival.

If you are unemployed, underemployed, retired, a student, or a teacher, you can apply by filling out this form. The application closes on Wednesday. Apply by March by 19th.

We are thrilled with our phenomenal cast of storytellers: Karin Amano, Sarah Brady, Laura Deal, Swapna Deshpande, Linda Gorham, Jennifer Hillery, Tobey Ishii Anderson, Andrea Kamens, Amanda Lawrence, Carol Moore, Miriam Nadel, Sarah Beth Nelson, Ingrid Nixon, Laura Packer, Jessica Robinson, Aimee Snow, Sarah Snyder, Shani Womack, and Janel Woodland.

The festival emcees are as amazing as the storytellers. We are excited to be joined by Bonnie Gardner, Sherry Grimes, Jeanna Lee, Jamie McElhatton, Miriam Nadel, Kristin Pedemonti, Fairfax City Mayor Catherine Read, Miss Virginia Lauren Stephens, and host of NPR’s 1A Jenn White.

Clare and Don’s Beach Shack is providing Saturday and Sunday lunches, and Saturday dinner. We highly recommend that you purchase food in advance. You can check out menu options and order 1, 2, or 3 meals at the link below.
