Phoebe Spring Contests

  • Genre: Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction
  • Deadline: March 15, 2025

Phoebe, the literary journal of George Mason’s MFA program, is currently accepting submissions for their Spring 2025 contests in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The contests are not open to GMU MFA students, but the Phoebe team would love to see work from other writers around the DMV!

They’re offering a fat stack of cash–a $500 prize–to the winner in each genre. The contest fee is a steal at $7. So get your best work ready and send it on in.

Not a writer but an artist? Phoebe is looking for art for upcoming issues, and since art submissions aren’t part of a contest (at least for now), you can submit artwork for free.
